Same, same, but different.

Yes, I know it’s been nearly a month since I last posted here. That would be because I’m just plugging away, doing what I do, taking each day as it comes.

Weight loss has slowed a bit as one would expect after this long (has it really been 15 months already?!?) but the numbers are still trending downward. For those keeping track at home, I’m currently down 67 pounds. My “short runs” are up to around 5 miles most of the time, I hit 10 miles on each of my last two long runs, and I’m about to hit 400 miles on my current running shoes – which are ONLY used for running. That half-marathon in December is feeling much less daunting now. Note to self: don’t forget to register for that.

I’ve had a few occasions recently to wear jeans and I’ve found that the smallest ones in my closet – which were bought back in December (size 36 – which was a huge milestone) – now feel and look comically baggy. Decided to go pick up a new pair while out and about yesterday. Tried on a 34 which felt alright but still looked a touch ridiculous. And not in a good way. “Okay,” I thought. “Let’s see what happens with a 32.” Holy shit, y’all. They fit. I honestly can not recall ever wearing anything smaller than a 36 for at least as long as I’ve been buying my own clothes. Now, the waistband is quite snug but that won’t be a problem for much longer if I stay on track. Also – and I don’t say this kind of thing about myself very often – they look damn good on me.

I likely won’t be posting much in October either, as it is shaping up to be an insanely busy month. So far Wight Lhite has two shows lined up. 10/3 at The Flycatcher opening up for Said The Whale (which I keep trying to write as Said The Dragon for some reason). Tickets are $12. Then 10/10 is a free show at Club Congress with The Electric Blankets. Also, we’re trying to get some recording done. And Apocalypso actually has a gig booked. Sorry, no details to share. It’s a private event. And then the Sierra Vista Symphony goes into full swing for our first concert cycle of the season. Which reminds me, I still need to buy a new tux. My last one pretty much disintegrated on me over this last season. So maybe I’ll at least be able to post an update with a new tux photo.

And then I’ll be off for my first vacation since December. A much. Needed. Vacation.
